Jeff and Faye meet Rosette, a Maltese friend from the internet. Rosette and her two daughters take Faye and Jeff to some additional sights in Malta. Along the way, they get a chance to visit, to share their cultures, and to talk about families, the internet, and other subjects of common interest.

Vedette and Grand Harbor, Fort St. Angelo

They first struggle through heavy traffic and labyrinthine streets to reach Fort St. Angelo, directly across the harbor from Faye and Jeff's hotel. They are able to explore much of the old fort, admire the spectacular views, and talk to guides dressed in period costumes.

Gladiator Colliseum, Fort Ricasoli. A new Colliseum has been built, for the movie "Gladiator". Filming starts on Monday, and thousands of extras will be hired.

Hagar Qim Ruins Then they drive to the ruins of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra. These awesome megalithic temples predate Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Egypt.

Kaccatur's Blind The idyllic site was somewhat spoiled by the presence of the "kaccatur", men who call themselves hunters, but who actually seem dedicated to eliminating all live birds (except pigeons) from Malta.

Republic Street, Valletta After lunch Rosette drops Faye and Jeff back at Valletta, where they take a farewell stroll through the city.
